Our core concept is to change nursing homes from conventional hospital-like institutions into diverse environments where elders live in a more home-like atmosphere and the care that's provided is based on a person-centered approach taking into consideration the individual needs of each elder.

A van was purchased as a joint project between the HRA - Irongate, and White Community Hospital. The van is used by elders to attend events, picnics, dinners and outings as well as provide for extra ordinary travel that is required by elders for personal reasons. Volunteers and staff who have clearance, fulfill the driving duties.
Elders living at White Community Hospital are able to correspond with their families by Email as an additional form of communication at 
The outdoor patio and planters were a 2000 project which are used regularly by elders, families and the community.
It is important to us that we continually strive to improve the quality of life for the elders of our nursing home.
